I’ve always carried a belief that Truth and Love are never meant to be separate; that the truth spoken without love is more harmful than never speaking the truth, and that you are not truly loving the ones around you if you are not being honest. ⠀
⠀
Most of my life I’ve tended to hold back from speaking bold truth in fear that it would be hurtful, and harm connection. In recent years I’ve grown more bold and developed a greater value for bold truth, and difficult conversations, realizing that honesty really does protect connection. You cannot expect people to know what you don’t share.⠀
⠀
I’m still challenged in this area so often, but I can tell you personally, when someone brings me the truth, and speaks honestly and openly with me, with a heart of love, as challenging as it can be, it really is as sweet as a kiss. ⠀
⠀
Pucker up! Make room to receive truth spoken in love! Haha
